The List…

We have a great long list of friends and family for whom we pray. I went to bed tired last night and woke up tired today, but so did Jennifer and Nathan who both have advanced Lyme disease. Mine was caught early and since I was already on the far side of ‘aging’ (68) the combination makes me about even for the count. I pray for them, as they are young, misdiagnosed for years and have a lot of damage and a long and expensive haul ahead.

There is Doug and Tonya, Fred and Donna, Rob and Janice, Colin and Diane, Bruce and Donna, Candy and Jack, John and Karen, Miki and Richard, JR and Becky, Linda and Michael, Tim and Meg, Ron and Sharon, Barry and Judy, Barry and Jenny, Dallas and Linda, David and Gail, Glen and Barbara, David and Alysia, Amy and Derek, Al and Melissa, Ellie and Pat, Doug and Rosemary….ALL couples who are dealing daily with long term physical problems of every odd diagnosed and undiagnosed thing, that are not changing.

Then there are the cancer folks…Harry, Amy, Liz, Rick N., Ed, Ron, Linda, Kim, Dave, Sandy, John and more. The aging, those with marital problems, handicaps, loss of spouse, crones disease and numerous other maladies known and unknown; missionary friends, the spiritual condition of our world…

And last but foremost…those we love whom have not yet made Jesus Lord of their life, or know Him but follow their own way and mix their faith in Christ with the world’s gods. We so want to see them in heaven one day. How do we handle it? How can we bear this burden alone? We can’t, we weren’t meant to.

Galatians 6:2 Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.

Matthew 11:28 “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

In God’s Word we find that calling on the Lord with the ‘list’, the heaviness of heart for those we love, we find rest for our souls and a lightness of heart knowing that God has given us HIS WORD, that He will carry it, He will handle it, He’s got this one…and that one and that one and that one and that one and that one…….
