I want to be where Joy is…

There was some discussion among friends on Facebook about how hot it was. A dear friend of many years, Joy, said it was 71 degrees with a lovely breeze. Most of the comments were in 90’s and even 100 degree temps with very high humidity. Sondra and the rest of us wants to be where Joy is in that kind of weather.

I also want to be where ‘Joy’ is. But as in the weather, I would have to make the move from the uncomfortable to the comfortable. Sometimes, most of the time, that is not an option. We are planted where God has us for a reason and a season, even in a hot muggy summer. So to choose to move isn’t even on the table. Circumstances also make the case for choice. You and I can choose to be in the ‘mullygrubs’ or we can choose ‘JOY’.  Nehemiah 8:10b…”And do not be grieved, for the ‘joy’ of the Lord is your strength.” Psalm 31:24 Be strong and let your heart take courage all you who hope in the LORD. Psalm 30:5b Weeping may tarry for the night, but ‘joy’ comes with the morning.

Because God’s mercies are new every morning (Lamentations 3:22 The ‘steadfast love’ of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; 23 they are new every morning;
great is your ‘faithfulness’.) we can choose ‘JOY’ even in the suffering, the trial, the disappointments of this temporal life. God’s ‘faithfulness’ is a ‘steadfast’ rule and in that knowledge, we can choose JOY!

Psalm 5:11 But let all who take refuge in you rejoice; let them ever sing for JOY,
and spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may exult in you. 12 For you bless the righteous, O Lord; you cover him with favor as with a shield.

‘I want to be where JOY is’…covered, favored, shielded, singing His praises, I choose ‘JOY’.
