The one thing God cannot do.
Our Creator offered us salvation in Jesus. In the Word of God we are offered wisdom, joy, peace, contentment, comfort, protection, a future and a myriad of other assets in this life. He also tells us there will be persecution and sorrow. There are scriptures that do tell us that we can be happy. ‘Happy is the man who has children.’ ‘Happy is the man whose God is the Lord.’ Many scripture verses. You can google them…there are even T-shirts with scriptures on them.
We are offered many things in this world to make us happy, but in the end, when all is said and done, nothing can make us happy. God cannot make us be a happy person. The choice is ours.
I am not negating the facts of life. People do live with depression and sorrow, sickness and loss, but all of God’s benefits offered in the Word, HIS WORD, are for His creation. In the end He has given us ‘freewill’…the option of choosing. The Word of God says, ‘choose today whom you will serve’…each day all day long ‘we’ choose. Will we receive the offers God has proffered or will we sit in our situation with depression, doubt and uncertainty.
“This one thing I know, if God be for us, who can be against us!”
“Rejoice in the Lord and again I say rejoice.”
