Psalm 16:11b-You make known to me the path of life;
in your presence there is fullness of joy;
This scripture comes with new meaning for me today. When we have a relationship with our heavenly Father through our acceptance of His grace in Jesus sacrifice for us. His ‘presence’ is with us and in us. The Holy Spirit guides and directs our lives in ways we have never imagined. Some places are going to be rough, but the “Presence” of our Lord is with us and He carries us. Even when we do not understand or feel sad or even ‘feel’ abandoned. He is not asleep in our boat at all. He owns the boat and it is secure, just hang on and watch what He does.
Today some friends came to visit. Dear friends who have over the last few years endeared themselves by their ‘presence’. Since Rick and I don’t get out to visit much more than therapy and the doctor, having others ‘present’ in our home brings us great comfort and joy.
Your ‘presence’ may be the key to helping someone survive the day with joy. Be there, be joyful, be grateful, be kind, be the ‘presence’ that helps shore up their day with joy. That human craving for relationship can only be satisfied in being ‘present’. Put your phone down, give them your attention, you may be the best thing that happens all day.
