Whatever will we do?

Our journey through the valley is beginning to change. The view we have now is a bit higher and wider. Our hearts and minds have been working steadily and patiently through the tough moments and the difficult decisions. Now we are beginning to think and pray forward. Where do we go from here? Where is God going to lead us? Before the stroke we wanted to retire and write books. We both have several in the basket awaiting our attention. Is that what we now believe God wants us to do? Or does He have another project for our later days? Many of my friends from Bible college have gone on to other types of ministry even in this past year. They could have retired, but as I recall, the word retire is not in the Bible and Scripture tells us in

Psalm 92:13 Planted in the house of the LORD, They will flourish in the courts of our God. 14 They will still yield fruit in old age; They shall be full of sap and very green, 15 To declare that the LORD is upright.

We are also told that Moses was 120 years old when he took his final walk with the Lord God up the mountain, Moses eyes were clear and his strength was not gone.

I am not worried, I am excited. You know Christmas is coming…from today, 187 days only. Rick is progressing quickly now, day by day. I believe by his birthday in August he will be walking with maybe a cane or completely unaided. He is swallowing everyday more and easier, although not ‘easy’.  This morning as he read the 2 printed devotionals we use, I stopped him because I could not understand what he was saying. Immediately, he began again and enunciated clearly. He wasn’t quite awake yet and hadn’t heard himself. Corrected quickly with notification.

I am not anxious, I am excited. When we see the world falling around us, the evil that takes place everyday in the news, we remember that we are a beacon, we are the light. Darkness cannot stand in the light. Dark and light are completely opposite. Where there is light, which we are, there can be no darkness, because the light shines. There may be shadows, but the light of Christ in our lives, NO MATTER what He has next for us, is the most important calling, future, useful for the Kingdom, purpose, on this planet until we see Jesus face to face.

I am so excited….
