Ebb and Flow

Flux and Change seem to be the only constant these days. Never quite sure what the day will bring. If it were not for the deliberate disciplines of life that we choose, we could easily be living in ‘chaos’. People do every day.

Being currently aware of world situations, national and local also, could make a person despair of this world. But due to the effort, consistent habitual input of Scripture and spiritual disciplines we can survive and survive well, at peace and with confidence in the final word, which is God’s.

Psalms 37:24 Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down, for the Lord upholds him…
2 Corinthians 4:8 We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed but not in despair; 9 persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.

..the next verse says, ‘We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body.’

Jesus died that we would have life, life eternal but also life here. We are to be witnesses of His life in us. Our love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control comes directly from our connection and consistent connectivity to Jesus and the Holy Spirit. Nothing outside of our body and no condition of our body can take away what is in our spirit. Training our spiritual man ‘habitually’ is how we survive in a world filled with chaos, flux, change.

…verse 25 says, “Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.”

I’ve tried living my way and always end up in a ditch, it is so much better to stay connected on a daily momentary basis with the Savior. No pain, no attitude, no outside force can separate us from His love and His will for our lives.

Romans 8:37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present no the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
