My assignment as a member of the healing team in our congregation is to keep the Prayer List for the Wednesday Healing Service. Sometimes the list gets so large and long that I have to change to smaller ‘font’ to get everyone who is in need of prayer, on the list.
There are many folk in our congregation who pray for the people on this list DAILY!!! We should all be so blessed. The grandmothers, who can no longer do the heavy duty everyday physical labor of their homes and families, and others who just take the time, call each name before the Lord. They have no idea what the problem is, but they know the Maker and He knows. Sometimes they intercede for someone without knowing why they are crying out to the Lord with such agony. They die to themselves to give life to those who need LIFE in Christ, either in their, body, mind or spirit.
Even in sadness and sorrow, our joy is made complete in our salvation, because we know in whom we believe and are persuaded that He is able to keep that which we have committed to Him, until we see Jesus Himself face to face. Life can be rough here on the globe, but this life is not all there is….focus on the eternal home and this too shall pass as breeze or a mist, and we shall be with Him who loved us so, that He gave.
2 Corinthians 4:8 We are pressed on every side, yet not crushed; perplexed, yet not to despair; 9 pursued, yet not forsaken; struck down, yet not destroyed; 10 always carrying in the body the putting to death of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body. 11 For we who live are always delivered to death for Jesus’ sake, that the life also of Jesus may be revealed in our mortal flesh. 12 So then death works in us, but life in you.
Little did I know as I was writing “Listening in Our Circumstances”, how soon I was going to be reading it myself. God has a smile on His face right now! I was obedient in the writing and now it has become to me, a reminder again of His great love, mercy and faithfulness.
