At least for another few minutes. For breakfast this morning we listened to Handel’s Messiah. I never tire of the beauty and majesty of that dedication of praise to the glory of our Savior. My sister and I discussed earlier in the week that people no longer stand for the Hallelujah Chorus and we were quite taken a back by the fact. We always stand and are not embarrassed if no one else does. It’s one of those things about tradition that stuck in our fiber. Praise to our God has many forms, standing, bowing, kneeling, dancing!!! Check out 2 Samuel 6:14 And David danced before the LORD with all his might.
I’m probably not going to dance much, but it has more to do with age than desire. It is a wonderful gift to be able to praise God. We can and should praise Him in our home, at our job, in every aspect of our life. He has given life eternal, joy, peace, love, hope, protection, healing, sustenance, all that we need is in Him.
In about 40 minutes it will be Christmas Day. The Christ ‘Mass’ was celebrated tonight in many churches. The’Light’ came into the world and is shining on us now. I do hope and pray that we see, receive and listen to Jesus this Christmas season and obey. Our desire for His presence should be the ‘present’ we praise today. God’s great gift, His Son our Savior and Lord.
